Are you passionate about grant-making and local community? Would you like to lead an innovative investments strategy to make Southwark a great and inclusive place to live for all?

St Saviour’s is both a grant-making charity and an almshouse provider. Every year we give over £600,000 to organisations working with the most vulnerable members of our community. We are undergoing a step change and we now want to increase our impact and influence by adding extra value through: making bold and effective investments to build communities; becoming an exemplar provider of housing for local, older people; growing our expertise; influencing change and increasing our resources so that we can have greater impact.

The Head of Community Investments is a new post that will lead and develop a strategic approach for our grant-giving, ensuring it is based on current need. They will find new and imaginative ways of investing in local charities, social enterprises and community organisations. The role will also build strategic partnerships with other funders, businesses and local organisations and will make an important contribution to St Saviour’s being an influential champion for Southwark’s communities.

The successful candidate will have experience of grant making, a track record of successfully managing resources, and an appetite for change. They will be resourceful, imaginative and able to turn new ideas into practical actions and change. An all-rounder is needed for this post, someone who is able to – amongst other things – develop creative relationships with community groups; develop and implement strategies; meet with CEOs and politicians; and be passionate about the local area.

Deadline for applications: 10am on 4 November, 2015
