Head of Communications

Salary:  Up to £50,000 (pro rata)

Hours:  Up to 0.8 FTE

Location:  Exton Street, London SE1 (Waterloo)

Are you motivated and inspired by voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations? Do you feel passionate about the work they carry out in tackling poverty, injustice and inequality?

IVAR works with these organisations to strengthen and support them to take control of their own future. We do this by providing research, education, advice and training, and by facilitating collaboration with their funders and partners, such as charitable foundations and public agencies. IVAR now wishes to undertake a step change in how we reach and serve our core constituency. A key element of this will be to develop our communications.

Working with our small team the Head of Communications will play a key role in:

• Enabling us to have the courage of our convictions to speak with authority and passion in order to shape a better operating environment for VCSE organisations
• Making more effective and accessible use of IVAR’s research findings, helping us move towards a more modern, dynamic and relevant style.

The Head of Communications will enable staff and associates to have confidence and develop tools to communicate meaningfully, usefully and in the spirit of IVAR’s core values. They will inspire, systematise and embed a new and contemporary approach to communications and learning across the organisation.
