About Sir John Cass’s Foundation

Sir John Cass’s Foundation is a major funder of education in London, funding progressive and innovative projects to enhance the education and stimulation of children and young people. Our innovative and creative approach is underpinned by over 250 years of history and tradition.

The team at Sir John Cass’s Foundation is small and friendly. Some members are part-time and some functions are outsourced but we are always driven by our values: efficiency and professionalism, openness and transparency, consideration and innovation. The team is hard working and there are times when the team pulls together to deliver events and to meet deadlines.

Driven by our belief that the education of young people is vital we:
• Support schools and educational establishments and fund special needs and projects so that education can meet the needs of children and young people
• Are progressive and forward thinking about education and will fund new, creative and innovative ideas and projects
• Fund individuals, providing scholarship programmes
• Fund large-scale projects in academic institutions

About the role

The Foundation has some strategic priorities for the future and wishes to widen its participation, in order to reach even more children and young people and build on our innovative work. In order to achieve our plans it is key that the Foundation meets its strategic goals and finds creative ways of using and growing its resources. As the Administration Manager, you will be key to supporting the Chief Executive and Trustees in achieving these goals by ensuring that there is a strong administrative basis from which the Foundation can grow and flourish.

The Administration Manager will report to the Chief Executive and will provide relevant information and advice to the board of trustees on the entire range of administrative responsibilities, including: finances, risk, governance and HR, ICT and Health and Safety issues.

About you

The postholder will be a confident manager and enjoy working with a small and sometimes very busy team, which may include being happy to roll your sleeves up and do whatever is needed to deliver. The Administration Manager will also need experience of developing and delivering a range of strategies and plans to provide a high standard of administrative support. To be successful, you will be experienced and competent in charity finance and administration and have previous experience of working in a similar role in a charity. You will have some people-management experience and a genuine interest in and commitment to our work, values and the organisations we fund.
